FASHION FOR FUTURE

EURASIAN FASHION WEEK holds an international competition for young designers. Participants will compete for a cash prize, three-week summer courses at IED Florence, participation in EURASIAN FASHION WEEK 2026, and the opportunity to undertake an internship at one of Europe’s leading fashion houses.

COMPETITION GOAL

To support emerging designers, foster the development of the light industry sector in the Republic of Kazakhstan, and attract relevant investment.

To promote the principles of sustainable consumption and production.

TARGET AUDIENCE

Fashion enthusiasts aged 18+: emerging and professional designers, amateur designers, and artisans.

COMPETITION THEME

“FUTURE FOR CRAFTS: Fashion Codes of the Past”

Each participant must present two innovative and stylish looks, one menswear and one womenswear, based on upcycling and incorporating such craft techniques as patchwork and/or quilling.

Primary materials may be provided to the competition finalists by the Teplo Foundation, subject to cooperation between EURASIAN FASHION WEEK and the Teplo Foundation in autumn 2025.

The application must include sketches, a brief description, and a motivation letter in both English and Russian on the theme “FUTURE FOR CRAFTS: Fashion Codes of the Past.” Knowledge of English is a mandatory requirement for eligibility for certain prizes from the Competition Partners.

The organising committee of the FASHION FOR FUTURE young designers’ competition is delighted to announce the list of finalists for 2025:

Finalists must confirm their participation and attendance within three days of the list being announced (up to and including 23 August 2025) by sending an email with their telephone number to fff@eurasianfashionweek.com for further coordination.

Students from higher education institutions specialising in design, the light and textile industries, as well as young fashion designers, craftspeople and amateur designers aged 18 and over are invited to enter the competition.

The call for entries for the FASHION FOR FUTURE 2025 competition is now closed.

The final of the competition will take place in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

EVALUATION CRITERIA

The competition entries will be evaluated by the jury according to the following criteria:

Relevance of the concept and prêt-à-porter style;

  • Originality and creativity of the design;
  • Application of sustainable design principles;
  • Technical and construction quality of the work.
